Discussion Text - Smoking in Public Place

Smoking is a practice for inhaling the smoke from the burned cigarette.  At the first time, some people smoke for their ritual for worship their god by Indian ethnic on America. When European come towards them on 16century, they are trying for smoking and bring it to their country. The European also bring the tobacco to Europe and begin to smoking for their enjoyment, not for ritual like an Indian do. There are many research which examine the cigarette and smoking. The researcher has find that smoking caused dependence for the people who smoke. Recently, we can find many people who smoking in public place. There are pros and cons about it.

Smoking should be banned in public place. Many people who aren’t smoking, argue that they are disturbed by the smoker. Moreover when they smoke on a public place such as public transportation, hospital, office, park, restaurant, and many more. More than 50 studies carried out worldwide have found that people are at an increased risk of lung cancer if they work or live with somebody who smokes. It’s danger for the passive smokers. They could be attacked by many disease such as lung cancer. Based on a human rights that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family. The smoke of cigarette give a bad effect for kids too.

On the other hand, the smokers against the rules. They consider that they have a rights for enjoy themselves. A ban on smoking in all enclosed public places would be difficult to enforce. We imagine, if smoking is banned, so the cigarette factory would be bankrupt and close their factory because cigarette has been banned. We know that cigarette factory has given the government a lot of tax payment, if the government banned cigarette, they will lose their income. After the factory was close, so many workers would lose their job too, we know that cigarette factory using so many people on their work. After they become unemployment, they will do such a crime because they need some money. They have seen a bad impact of the rules, not only give a bad impact for the smokers, but give a bad impact for the cigarette factory, the worker, and the government itself.

From those arguments, I think that smoking should be banned. If the government won’t be lose for their financial, and cigarette factory won’t out of business, the government must create special place for smoker. It’s better if there isn’t smoking in public place, the level of health would increase.
